Bio from Santa Fe Photographic Workshops:

Christopher Wray-McCann began making photographs at the age of 16 while attending the Interlochen Arts Academy in the north woods of Michigan. In the years since, he has gone around the world several times, photographing musicians, celebrities, corporate executives, athletes, criminals, and artists in over 30 countries.

His images have appeared in such diverse publications as Vogue, The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone. He has worked with most of the major recording labels, creating portraits and album artwork for artists like the Eagles, Cypress Hill, Lou Reed, and Los Lobos. Simon and Schuster published a collection of his rock and roll photos, Midnight Miles, in 2006.

HJ:  I asked Christopher as a fan if I could post this collection of stills and got the thumbs up. What I love about this work is how well it indulges in the raw and real, delivering a genuine, no-compromise photographic lifestyle. It’s a great mix of editorial and commercial, or one could say slices of an edgy lifestyle sometimes adapted for commercial purposes. Regardless it works to maintain the artist’s vision, taking what’s behind the scenes to create the scene. That’s got to be a really nice place to be.

Christopher Wray-McCann lives in Hollywood, CA.
